One Month Already?!

Clover at 1 month: 10lbs 8oz 21.5in

In other news we've officially been using the pacifier for a week now. YAY! We weren't using one before because it was affecting the way she would eat, but now that she has no problem eating (hence all the weight gain, tubby) we've started using one. This might not seem that exciting, oh but it is. See, now we can get more sleep. We just pop that little paci in and it does as promised, it pacifies! YAY FOR SLEEP!

In the beginning ....

Here is a brief look into the history of the Irby's and Clover

Brian and I married in September 2005, moved to Georgia for a year, and then moved back to California so that Brian could attend The Masters Seminary.

We were trying to conceive for about a year and a half but the Lord had better plans. It was rough but the Lord used it to increase our faith and trust in Him. In April 2009 we found out we were pregnant.

When I was 19 weeks pregnant we found out we were having a baby girl, Clover Amethyst. The doctor also saw extra fluid in her kidneys, from then on I would see a perinatologist every 3 weeks until the baby was born.

On December 18, 2009 I was induced (by choice, I wanted to be home by Christmas) and on December 19, 2009 Clover was born at 8:11am, she was a perfect 8lbs 3oz and 19.5in. She had an ultrasound and we saw she still had enlarged kidneys and ureters. We were planning for a VCUG (a dye test)to see if there was any reflux, but before we could get one scheduled she was admitted into the hospital with a high fever and UTI (bladder infection, one of the casualties of having a kidney issue). Our 5 day stay included a spinal tap, IV's, catheter's, the VCUG scan and getting blood drawn. All in all not fun and barely any sleep. The next step is to have a Mag3 scan to see if there is any blockage in her ureters, in the meantime she is on oral antibiotics until to prevent future UTI's.

So now you are up to date! Welcome to our lives ... please pray for Clover this is not fun for her, my biggest comfort (besides the peace of God) is knowing she wont remember this.

Oh and I fixed the comments section, I know some of you had trouble leaving a comment.
