Goodbye Arizona .... for now

we got to visit my Aunt Sue, Uncle Bruce and Grandma one last time before we move across the country.
They live in one of the most beautiful places {Prescott Valley, Arizona} and they are the most loving family you could ever ask for. They fill you to the brim with delicious food and have the best conversations.
Truly one of my favorite places to visit.
Unfortunately, I had a brain malfunction and took NO pictures of any of my family!
Well, it's not goodbye forever, just for a little while.

{Clover loves the slide}
{this time was a little too fast, but hilarious!}
{don't ask me how she fit on my lap}

{ummm...excuse me}
we'll be back one day

pregnancy update: did the 3 hr {4 hr} glucose test and SURVIVED!
I know some of you were worried.

Like Father Like Daughter

I have successfully passed on some of my favorite characteristics to Clover
for example:
clothes: trying them on, shopping for them
wearing sunglasses w/o taking them off
swimming and hanging out in the sun
leaving hair bows and headbands on

but there are a few characteristics that cannot deny that she is also Brian's daughter too.
like rocks. she LOVES rocks.
licking rocks, collecting rocks, throwing rocks, eating rocks etc

{we went to travel town for our cousin Ben's 2nd birthday}
{this is what our family calls "the Bill Maneuver"
Do NOT try this}

{Clover rode with Nana so mommy and daddy could sit in the back aloooone}
{and do this......?}

well I guess if she had to have Brian's hobbies, I'm thankful those are them and not other things which will not be uttered for the public

17 Months & counting

. 23 lbs . tall .

new words: no . grandpa {finally} . I swear one day I heard her say "hungry" . church . bible . water {wah wah} . cheese .
can count to 3 {un ... toooo .... bweeee}
dances {loves the mary rice hopkins song "ooh ooh ooh ooh ah ah ah" does anyone know what I'm talking about?}

well it's summertime and you know what that means!
and swim lessons
{i think she likes swimming with grandpa better}
{this is what happens when you give a child yogurt and leave them alone for awhile}

I am now 32 weeks pregnant and becoming quite a wide load.
update on my glucose test:
my regular dr said that he didn't think I had to do it and that my baby looked average
but then
I went back to the specialist and he was surprised that my dr thought that my baby was average. apparently my baby is in the 90% in head and weight.
gee thanks
so he would like me to take the 3 hr glucose test, and he wants to see me AGAIN right before the baby is born to see the results ... this is fine IF my baby showed any signs of being abnormal ... but this baby is perfect so far ... no problems .... just a little chunky
{geez, why the prejudice against chunky people??}

aw well
Im ready! Bring it, baby.

MmMm Good

I usually don't do posts like this,
{although I love reading others posts that do!}
But these 2 drink recipes are SO good that I had to share the wealth.
The first is good, good meaning yummy
not so good if you're trying to keep the calories on a low
this is a great party drink that I served at a shower I threw for a friend
{I wont take credit for it though, I got the recipe from another baby shower that I went to}

Mocha Cappuccino Punch

prepare 2-3 hours before serving
4 cups brewed coffee or 1/4 cup of instant coffee. {I used decaf for the baby shower}
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder {like hot chocolate mix}
4 cups half and half or milk, add more milk if too sweet
scoops of chocolate and vanilla ice cream {optional}

In container mix hot coffee, chocolate powder and sugar.
Stir until sugar is dissolved.
Put in refrigerator for 2 hours.
Just before serving pour into punch bowl.
Add milk or half and half and mix well.
Top with scoops of ice cream.

not to healthy, but oh so good. Make sure you make at least 2 servings. I only made one thinking no one would drink it and it was the first thing gone. Those ladies sure like their coffee!
this 2nd drink will hopefully make up for the sugar coma I've given you.
I was looking up some nutritious breakfast ideas on Wholefoods.com and found this
it looks nasty ... but please believe me when I say that Clover and I drank the whole thing right after we made it.

Get Your Greens Smoothie

1 1/2 cups baby spinach leafs
1 1/2 cups berries
1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk, soy milk or rice milk
{I added a banana, and some people add protein powder or flax seed}

puree all ingredients and drink

If it looks green and not very yummy than you made it right.
You don't even taste the spinach at all!

If you ever decide to try these, let me know what you think!

Easter Sunday

2 Corinthians 5:21 "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him"

This is the reason my family celebrates Easter, Resurrection Sunday.
We who are born sinners cannot earn our way to Heaven. {ephesians 2:8 "for by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God"} But God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to come live a perfect life on earth so that He could take on the sin of the world and be crucified. 3 days later He defeated death and rose from the grave, so that we too will one day rise up and be with God in Heaven forever.

we also did a couple easter egg hunts
this is our practice run that we did with a few friends

{this is how old school gangsters do}

then we had the real deal with the fam on Resurrection Sunday {easter sunday}
{he found the candy inside the egg immediately}
{it took him a little while longer to start eating the candy ... but still found it}
{with all the kids eating the candy first ... the easter egg hunt didn't last long}
{the cousin's}
{preg sisters ... I don't look big at all ;) }
{preg hubsters}
{all in all it was a pretty awesome easter, I'd say}
{i love my family}

He is Risen!
