Only in the South pt. 9

Only in the South...

do you see this out your window
a guy brushing his dog....
with a broom
and the dog is just standing there taking it

I guess he was dirty??

fortunately I had a fellow Californian with me to witness this
we were both perplexed

the end?
......I'm still confused.....

Crimson: 7 Months & counting

. 26.5 in . 14lb 12.5oz .
48% in ht . 9% in wt
still wearing 3 month old clothes!!
{she literally is my little peanut}

. milestones .

crawling {yikes!}
eating solid food, so far cereal and applesauce
2 naps
12 hour night sleeps
poops once a day {cause I know you were wondering....yet I wonder why only one?}
first 2 little teeth
first fever 102 for 2 days ... it was a doozy!
likes yo gabba gabba {I know shocking}

{2 new teethies}

she is my skinny minnie
she could really care less about eating....she likes to look around....blow raspberries....look and laugh at Clover...then maybe take a bite...spit it like it's funny
meanwhile I'm frazzled trying to get her to eat so we can run out the door to get to church or to our dr. appointment today

{pulling up onto her knees to play}
she puts herself to sleep which is amazing
she used to play content by herself on the floor but now that she crawls, she just crawls after me all day crying/whining for me to pick her up....but in a cute way, if crying/whining can be cute

these two girls are so much fun and so much work all in one
our hair usually goes un-brushed
we stay in our pj's a lot
and our cleanliness is at an all time low
and I LOVE IT {today} :)

wonder what Clover is up to?

she knows her abc's
she can count to 10
she likes to sing and dance especially to Charlie Brown music
she tells me "bless you mommy" when I sneeze {and even when I don't}
she LOVES stickers and says them with a very exaggerated hispanic accent "steeeeecAaaRs"
she helps me put the dogs in their cage {the laundry room}
she HATES nap times and bed times ever since we got back from California in January
she is pretty much potty trained...just working on naptime/bedtime especially since we're have the above problem

and there's more but that's all I can think of!
thanks for stopping by!!!

Melts my Heart

this morning Clover came into the room with the baby's blankie, her Bible and a pencil
{mimicking me}
sits down
tries to put the blankie on her
opens up her Bible and starts taking notes {scribbles}
when I asked her what she was doing she said
"I read the Bible"

this encourages me to be in the Word
she is watching me!
and {for now} wants to be like me!!!
I need to take advantage of this time to
"train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it"
Proverbs 22:6

{taking a "leap of faith" with her bible
.....and my dirty windows in the background
pride aside kenzie, put your pride aside}

Best Friends 2.0

my absolute best friend from growing up, lives in Mississippi

we grew up at church and at school together, although we only really remember each other probably starting in 8th grade and then didn't get really close till high school
but we're in all the same pictures, elementary school and on
and at the same birthday parties
she is the cheese to my macaroni
the peanut butter to my jelly
she laughs at my jokes
she sticks around regardless of how weird I get
we were in show choir together
we were in a band together, "No Parking" {we have an album fyi}
we can harmonize perfectly together when we sing
being super cool together
pretty much we're friends for life no matter the distance
since I've moved to Georgia, she is only a grand ol' 7 hours away
that's it?! you say?
that's it ... just 7 hours of driving in the middle of no where with a toddler who gets carsick and a nursing babe
but she's worth it :)
{actually it wasn't that bad...well the way home was, but not the drive there}

we both have two daughters the same age
{about 8 months apart}
and our babies are only 3 days apart
{that's how best friends do it!}
and we are determined that our kids will be best friends
even if it kills us!
they watched Little Mermaid together
they held hands
shared a bike
while Whit and I had some good times playing old songs from our band days
{don't mind my big ol' gums that are in your face!}
then we had a photo shoot

then we all hugged goodbye
ours was an awkward hug....just like old times
then Crimson made funny faces on the way home

Miss you Whit!!!! maybe one day we can live next door to each other like we always dreamed!

Proverbs 31 women

sometimes when reading Proverbs 31 there is so much that I want to do to be like that woman that I get overwhelmed before I even start!
am I the only that feels like that?
there's just so much of me that I need to work on!

and when I look around I see so many women that I want to be like!
they are all great moms in different ways.

there are some moms who are great at just having joy in their children
the never seem to get upset with their kids sins and see it as a joy to share the gospel in those times
they never seem burdened by having so many kids and no time to themselves
they are always gushing about their kids, even if they haven't slept in days {years}

then there are moms who are great at taking care of their kids in the healthiest way possible
they do the research, do the work of preparing meals, making their own cleaning products, researching vaccines to make sure they are being really wise with what goes into their kids physically

then there are moms who are always playing with their kids
they are the moms who come up with new craft ideas everyday
are always taking their kids to the park/the zoo/on a walk
exploring life and really investing in their kids experiencing a kids life

then there are moms who are great discipler's with their children
their children know bible verses and songs as soon as they can talk!
their kids are sharing the gospel at 4
their kids are respectful and disciplined, cleaning up their plates after eating, doing the dishes, helping clean up their room etc

then there is the coupon/savings mom
she knows how to get deals, strike bargains and get the best quality and quantity out of anything
they find ways to get groceries cheap
free cards, movie tickets, anything!
she always finds ways to save her family money

there are so many neat, wonderful women.
I know I am just touching the tip of the iceberg here with these descriptions
I want to be all these things!!
But I also know all these women aren't all these things, they just have their "specialty". Not that they're not great in the other areas too. But they are just extra good at the one quality.
I wonder if I have one and I just don't see it?

I know that to be the Proverbs 31 woman isn't to change my ways outwardly. But to constantly be in the Word of God, reading, meditating and being more like Christ. Working on the inward, my heart, repenting from sin and knowing I can't do it on my own; only by the power of Christ within me.
And that is what any of these women I have described would say too.
