Newest Chew Toy

Clovers new fort! I love that she loves it AND I can actually get things done while she hangs out in it! She likes to tower over me and smile and laugh at herself, and occasionally fall down and pop her head back up and laugh.

Here is what she does in said fort:

And this is why we had to lower the railing ... her new chew toy. In case you can't tell, there are teeth marks in the wood. Yes, Clover went from zero teeth to 2 in just a short couple of days.

Now since Clover has a new "toy", Brian decided to get one too. Don't have a heart attack people!! That's my man!
What's going on in the next couple of days:
  1. Tomorrow Clover has her first swimming lesson
  2. Thursday we leave for Georgia, 13 days of the South
  3. Saturday is MY BIRTHDAY, get me presents!

Jesus Loves Me

Unlike some children, Clover really does have an Uncle Jesus (aka Jesse)

See the resemblance? No?

Clover LOVES her honorary Uncle Jesus and Aunt Elizabeth and WE DO TOO!!

Test Results are in ......

E. COLI!! Now this may not sound like good news to some of you, but to us "e. coli" are sweet sweet words on our tired ears. (for those who don't know, e.coli is good because it means we get to stay home and treat with general antibiotics). We saw the urologist yesterday, and he is thinking that this is probably just a coincident UTI. Unless she gets another one, we won't worry about it. Girls tend to get UTI's easier than boys. E. Coli pretty much comes from poo, so now we are just going to be extra EXTRA careful when wiping her and make sure we get EVERYTHING!!!

Now that we got the good news, what are we going to do now .....

I'm going to DISNEYLAND! (seriously)

There is some bad news though, we are now going to be back on oral antibiotics long term. :( At least its only going to be once a day. But it is not fun! It's so sticky, and those who know me well, now that I HATE sticky!! (My poor kids). One of my biggest "ew" feelings is seeing a child with an ice cream or popcicle dripping all of their hands and face. "eww" just thinking about it makes me want to go take a shower!! Here is a picture of Clover taking her antibiotics ... she's so good.
We go back to the urologist sometime in 4 months for another ultrasound and check up. He said everything looks good and that now we can give Clover a regular bath, meaning fill up the tub more. Up until now we couldn't let water be above her little incision/hole/stoma/2nd belly button (whatever you feel like calling it). And Clo can go into a swimming pool now too, so she is going to start swim lessons sometime soon with my Auntie Steph; she owns a swim school down the street from where we live. So much exciting stuff going on!

Georgia trip: T-minus 8 days. Southerner's get ready for some Cali
lovin'!

6 Months & counting

. 14lbs 7oz . 26in .

Phew, these months are really going by fast. Time for another baby! NOT! This little girl keeps me on my feet, and here is why....

Milestones:
  1. Perfecting the army crawl, she can get where she wants faster than I can move to stop her!
  2. Had her first solids, rice cereal. Loved it.
  3. Says "ma" but only when shes crying. (Why oh why when I am trying to get her to deal without me does she have to be so cute and say "ma"?? why??)
  4. Has her fourth bladder infection. How many of you can say your child has accomplished this, eh? (yeah, I'm counting it as an accomplishment, what other way is there?)
  5. Cutting her first tooth, I'm scared!!!!

Here is just a preview of the pictures that we took with the infamous, Jason Dolbier!

Not Again ...

This is going to be short and not so sweet.

Please be praying for us. Yesterday Clover had a fever, I took her to the Dr. and she is positive for another bladder infection. This is with the "good" kidney. She got an antibiotic shot and we are back on oral antibiotics. We are waiting for the results to see what type of bacteria it is, and to see if we might possibly have to go back to the hospital.

Please pray:
  1. That we would be able to stay home from the hospital
  2. Brian is away, so if we have to go to the hospital, that it could wait until he gets home
  3. For the Dr.'s to figure out why she is still getting bladder infection, we thought this way fixed
I know the Lord is totally sovereign over all this, but I'm not going to lie, I'm fighting the anxiety of the possibility of going back into the hospital (for this infection or to figure out what is still going on). So please keep us in your prayers.

Thanks. You've all been such an encouragement to me through all this (from the very beginning), your kind words mean a ton. <3

Happy Birthday Brian!

Happy Birthday to my man. My hubby is "officially" in his 30's! 31 to be exact! Yes, he robbed the cradle :)

What did he get for his birthday?
A MOTORCYCLE!!!!
I'll let you recover from that for a minute.

Yup that's right a motorcycle. I DID approve. It's a pretty awesome Harley and I only agreed to it after he promised me he would be safe on it. Not one of the motorists who speed through cars and cut them off. It's mostly to save gas and now he and his friend, Ryan, can go on trips through pretty scenery.
We celebrated by going to the Tam O' Shanter for delicious prime rib. yum-o.

The next day we tagged along with our friends, the Shaw's so the photographer extraordinaire, Jason, could take really awesome pictures of all of us in Malibu. It was Clo's first time at the beach, and it was coooold! When we sat her in the sand for the first time she did what was to be expected, she grabbed some sand and put it in her mouth. GROSS. By the end of the photo shoot her feet and lips were blue, so we bundled her up and drove home. It was a great day.

To end this post I will give you these HILARIOUS pictures of Clover. I was outside picking up the dog poop and Clover was staring at me from inside. I was laughing soooo hard, and I hope you do the same. :)

Oh Boy!

No I'm not pregnant. Thought I would just state that because sometimes people take the littlest sentence and turn it into something bigger. Not that any of YOU would do that! NO! ;)

Well it takes me longer to do posts now, Clover is A-C-T-I-V-E!! That is the one consensus everyone gives, "She's going to be a handful" they say. Yes, I know, I know. So right now she is dead asleep beside me. I will try to type silently. And of course as I write that, her eyes pop open. So now I will save this little tid-bit and come back later to finish.

And I'm back!

So we went to Arizona to visit my Grandma Dorothy, Aunt Sue and Uncle Bruce. It is a 7 hour drive!!!! So on the way out we left at 1am and it was good, Clover slept. The way home was a completely different story, she cried the whole time except for when she was asleep. Ugh! On the way home we stopped by my other Grandpa's house and it was his first time meeting his little Great-Granddaughter. Fun.

My Grandma has one dog, my aunt and uncle have 2, we have 2 and my aunt's sister brought over 2. So one day we had SEVEN dogs in the house. It was AMAZING. I love little dogs, especially fluffy ones. :)

While we were there we went shopping and Clover got 2 pairs of sunglasses, and a cute zebra beach towel, getting ready for swim lessons. One of my aunts owns a swim school
and will be teaching her as soon as we get the doctors "Okay".

There is this BEAUTIFUL! hike around a lake and through some mountains that we've gone on before (never with a baby). Its about a 7-8 mile hike. Last time we took one of our dogs and I ended up carrying him half way. This time we had Brian, me, Elyse(my sis), Clover in a jogging stroller and Indiana(my dog). Wow, we didn't even make it half way before we had to turn around. For some reason we thought we would go in the middle of the day and heat (no shade), bad idea. Indiana was tired, Clover was crying almost the WHOLE time. Ugh, miserable. Hopefully we learned our lesson! hopefully ....

All in all, great trip though. We love it there, it is beautiful and relaxing. And it is in a higher elevation so it doesn't get as hot. Miss you Cogswell fam!

Things still to update on soon:
  1. It was Brian's birthday yesterday, so there will be an update on that
  2. We went and took pro pictures at the beach today, which was also Clo's first time at the beach
  3. Clover is turning 6 months on the 19th!!! ahh!
  4. Urology/Ultrasound appointment on the 21st, checking up on those kidneys ... it's been over 2 months since we last had an infection! WHOO!
  5. Georgia visit July 1-13 (mark your calendars GA people!)
